Deborah Bateson is a Professor of Practice in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney and has worked in the area of sexual and reproductive health for over 25-years as a clinician, researcher, educator and advocate with a focus on supporting equitable access to contraception, abortion care and cervical cancer control. Deborah is Acting Chair of the National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP) Clinical Advisory Group and former Chair of the NCSP Self-Collection Implementation Committee and the Australasian Sexual Health Alliance. Currently, Deborah is leading a national program of work to optimise cervical screening for people with disability and is Deputy Lead of the Australian Government-funded implementation program ‘Elimination Partnership in the Indo-Pacific for Cervical Cancer’ (EPICC).
